Freedom calls at Jamaica
The world’ biggest cruiseliner, Royal Caribbean International’s Freedom of the Seas, is due to arrive in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, yesterday, just days after the island was hit by Hurricane Dean.
Tourism minister Aloun Assamba said: “It is testimony to the fact the government’s investment in Jamaica’s infrastructure is more than worth it.”
Port Authority of Jamaica vice president William Tatham said: “The sea ports held up remarkably well during the hurricane, proving our port facilities are on par with the best in the world.”
