French ATC strike enters third day

Wednesday, 8 March 20173 min read

The French air traffic control strike has entered its third day, with UK and European airlines again forced to cancel flights.

Ryanair has cancelled 66 flights across Europe, Flybe, British Airways and easyJet have also been affected.

Air France said it expects to operate 78% of domestic flights departing from Paris Orly or French province and 99 % of short and medium-haul flights departing from Paris Charles de Gaulle, but warned further last-minute delays and cancellations may occur.

Ryanair urged passengers to sign the online A4E petition, Keep Europe’s Skies Open, ‘to help protect Europe from repeated disruption by these ATC unions’.

In the first two days of the five-day strike, which began on Monday, over 800 flights have been cancelled.
