French port strikes called off

Thursday, 28 March 20133 min read

A strike at French ports, which would have caused major disruption to cross-Channel services over the Easter week, has been called off.

French port control officers had planned a 24-hour strike in a row over pay.

The action was expected to cause disruption at Calais, Dieppe, Dunkirk and Cherbourg.

But the strike has now been called off after late night talks in France.
