English Premier League action heads across the pond this July as Orlando hosts The Florida Cup 2022.

Former EPL winners Chelsea and Arsenal face-off on 23 July in the Theme Park Capital of the World.

The stateside derby is the grand finale of the Florida Cup with Arsenal also playing Orlando City SC (at Exploria Stadium, 20 July) for the first time.

Whether visitors want to spectate and soak up the atmosphere or make sport an exciting part of their trip, here is a round-up of some of the top sport activities and iconic venues in Orlando.

GOLF GOERS

Both casual and competitive golfers will enjoy Orlando’s variety of golf courses. New for this summer is PopStroke, an entertainment venue with two 18-hole putting courses designed by Tiger Woods. Traditional golfers can enjoy Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge, just one of numerous celebrated designer golf courses in the Orlando area, some featuring academies helmed by nationally recognized instructors.

GAME, SET AND MATCH

In 2017, Orlando became the new home of American tennis, when the United States Tennis Association opened a USTA National Campus in the Lake Nona area of Orlando. The 63-acre complex has 100 courts (hard and clay) and is available for play to visitors.

RUN WILD

There are miles of trails, parks and paths in Orlando,. Loops such as the Orlando Urban Trail in downtown Orlando and the West Orange Trail in Winter Garden will take you on a scenic tour of parks, lakes and pretty streets. Or, run with your favourite characters to a castle backdrop through Walt Disney World® Resort at one of their four runDisney race weekends including 5k, 10k, half and full marathons.
