Germanwings launches Scottish route
Germanwings is launching flights from its base in Cologne/Bonn to Edinburgh for the Summer.
The no-frills carrier will operate one flight a day to the Scottish capital from March 30, along with new routes in Eastern and Southern Europe.
Germanwings will fly twice daily to Bologna and Dresden, once daily to Prague and Venice, four flights weekly to Izmir and Lisbon, and three flights weekly to Thessaloniki, all from Cologne/Bonn.
The routes will be priced from £13 one way including taxes and charges.
An expansion of the Germanwings fleet by three Airbus 319 and 320 aircraft, will take the fleet to eight, enabling the carrier to increase frequencies on some of its popular existing routes. From 30 March, Rome will be served by two flights a day, instead of one, and Istanbul will be served five times a week, up from three.
