Google makes hotel booking listings free
Google previously made it free for retailers to sell on Google Flights, and now the search engine is doing the same for hotels for links on the Google.com/travel platform. Making it free for hotels and travel companies will provide users a more comprehensive choice and better comparison shopping.
"When travel does resume in earnest, it’s crucial that people can find the information they’re looking for and easily connect with travel companies online," said Richard Holden, VP of Product Management at Google Travel.
For many years hotel booking links were offered through paid Hotel Ads and Google says free listings will generate increased booking traffic and expand the reach of advertisers’ Hotel Ads campaigns.
