Green Globe tapped for EU Hotel Energy Solutions programme

The Green Globe Index programme is pleased to announce that it has been requested to assist the EU co-funded Hotel Energy Solutions initiative (www.hotelenergysolutions.net), coordinated with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA), European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME). The Hotel Energy Solutions programme is designed to boost the competitiveness of the hotel sector by increasing energy efficiency and the usage of renewable technologies. “We will value Green Globe International’s help, as one of our UNWTO Affiliate Members, through our outreach channels”, said Ms. Zoritsa Urosevic, Executive Secretary, UNWTO Business Council and Project Coordinator.

The Green Globe Index is a low cost common disclosure platform designed to enable mass engagement with sustainable travel and tourism. The index, managed by UK based Sustainability Intelligence Ltd, is a webbased tool that assesses sustainability performance, providing measurement and benchmarking for all types of travel industry stakeholder.
