Hundreds of guests and crew were evacuated after a cruise ship fire.
They were evacuated from Viking Orion, which was docked at White Bay cruise port.
The fire started in a guest stateroom and spread to two other cabins.
Ship crew were able to contain the blaze before fire crews arrived.
“Levels 5 and 6 of the ship were evacuated with the remainder maintaining its normal operations,” the NSW fire service said.
“Passengers have been allowed to disembark to carry on with activities.”
It said two people suffered smoke inhalation and were treated by paramedics.
The fire service is working with the ship’s crew to investigate the cause of the cruise ship fire.
