Heathrow Airport drop-off charge to start in October
Heathrow Airport’s recently announced £5 passenger drop-off charge for private vehicles will be introduced in October 2021. It applies to all private vehicles as well as taxis and private hire vehicles such as Uber. Blue badge holders with registered reduced mobility, emergency vehicles, motorcycles and coaches are exempt.
Airport bosses say it is part of its Surface Access strategy and sustainable travel initiatives to ‘improve air quality and reduce congestion.’
