Heathrow airport strike off with improved pay deal
A potential Heathrow Airport strike, which was planned for later this month, has been scrapped.
Union Unite has secured an increased pay award for baggage carousel engineering firm Vanderlande Ltd workers.
The workers maintain baggage carousels at the airport.
As a result, the airport strike is off.
Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham said: Members stood firm and have now negotiated a better pay deal.”
They are safety and security critical for passengers so this is well deserved.”
Unite regional officer Russ Ball said members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the improved offer.
