The Philippines have been hit by heavy monsoon rains from Tropical Storm ‘Maring’, trapping thousands in their homes.
Manila and the National Capital Region is experiencing flooding, reports the Foreign Office, and many businesses and schools are closed.
It says travel within the city is difficult with many roads impassable and Manila’s international airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is experiencing delays on several flights.
Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Sea Air flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have been cancelled due to the bad weather, according to NAIA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado.
