Hills Balfour unveils restructure as MD steps down
Travel PR and marketing company Hills Balfour has announced a restructure following managing director Jonathan Sloan’s decision to leave this summer.
The restructure brings promotion for several key Hills Balfour staff, while a new director of business development for the company’s US owner, MMGY, will join next month.
Simon Gidman takes up the newly created post on July 8. He joins from Tourism Australia, where he was business events manager.
It’s understood Sloan is taking up another job in the travel industry, although details have not yet been revealed.
He said: "The last 17 years have represented an incredible journey with many amazing experiences along the way.
"To help build Hills Balfour to the market leading position it enjoys today, along with growing the best team in the business with a client list to match, has been a pleasure to be a part of."
Under the restructure, Sam Hancock and Rosina Bradshaw become associate directors, with Hancock overseeing flagship clients such as Brand USA, as well as incorporating the Hills Balfour Events division into his role and Bradshaw overseeing digital and special projects.
Associate Director Jo Hartley takes on a new role as associate director and head of PR for Hills Balfour Europe and Dubai, as the company prepares to grow its PR business from and in the Middle East.
Rhys Powell takes on a new role as head of sales for MMGY/Hills Balfour, marketing Hills Balfour and the wider group’s products and services internationally.
Associate director Russell Meara is to integrate his role more closely with head of HR and operations Peter Balfour, in addition to the newly appointed MMGY group financial controller Nimmi Shah.
Jane Nicholson will be undertaking a new role as head of campaigns and promotions until the end of the year, covering Rosina Bradshaw’s upcoming maternity cover until her return in 2020.
