India conducts two-month airline safety audit

With safety issues still niggling India’s airlines, regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation has begun a special audit to tackle maintenance issues.
Officials recently conducted spot-checks and found issues with reporting and not enough certified technicians on duty.
DGCA last week grounded two Airbus planes operated by Go First due to engine issues and other safety concerns. An Air India plane was also grounded.
The audit will last two-months and scrutinise all aspects of maintenance and engineering operations.
