Intrepid launches new UK active tours
Intrepid has expanded its UK programme with a range of new active trips exploring the UK’s riverside scenery.
Four new itineraries have been designed to get people active and explore their own country by bike, on foot and on the water.
The trips take in Northumberland’s River Tyne, the River Wye, River Thames and Devon’s River Dart and River Teign.
Highlights include swimming in the clear water of Sharrah Pool in Dartmoor, stand-up paddle boarding down the Thames to Oxford and cycling around the secluded Elan Valley in Wales.
Accommodation options include glamping, historic inns and family-run guest houses.
These trips are suitable for a moderate level of fitness and confidence in the water.
No previous experience of the activities is necessary so they are ideal for those keen to try something new.
These latest low carbon trips are part of Intrepid’s mission to decarbonise its product as travel begins to open up.
Intrepid became the first and only tour operator to commit to verified science-based sustainability targets in October 2020.
With the addition of these new tours, Intrepid now has a range of 20 UK trips.
Zina Bencheikh, Managing Director EMEA of Intrepid Travel, said: "We have seen a big uplift in bookings for our UK tours over the last three months, with many clients opting to stay closer to home this summer. These exciting new itineraries prove that you don’t have to travel far to have an adventure."
"These trips are about getting out into nature, being active and discovering spectacular parts of the UK."
It includes the Northumberland: Hike, Bike and Kayak (4 days, from £945pp). The north-east unlocks scenic landscapes and ancient ruins of the River Tyne.
