Is this the world’s worst passenger?
Many of us have experienced that nightmare flight when you are stuck with no escape in close proximity with the traveller from hell. Earlier this week, an editor of award-winning U.S. sitcom Modern Family was experiencing just that (on a flight with Wi-Fi) and live tweeted from ‘sitting behind the worst person in the world‘. Ryan Kelly took to Twitter to chronicle the four hour journey with Nadia, a drunken woman who managed to offend her fellow passengers in many ways, and the results were hilarious. According to her loud ramblings, Nadia had never not flown in first class before and was only on the plane after having missed her scheduled flight; she boasted about knowing David Guetta, forced her in-flight entertainment options on her neighbouring passenger and was racially abusive while trying to flirt – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Ryan’s Twitter updates read like the perfect comedy sketch and as one Tweeter put it, ‘we can’t wait to see this episode of Modern Family!’. Watch the full saga unfolding here on Mashable.
Premier Inn guests are set to experience a new wave of technological advances with the opening of Hub Premier Inn hotel in Covent Garden on 1 November. This is the first in the roll out of 11 hotels set to open their doors in the next three years. The hotels have been developed to give guests the power to design their ideal stay all with the help of one app. The app is there to aid guests from the initial stages of booking right down to controlling the temperature within their room, pre-ordering breakfast and creating their perfect outings. This is a further move towards more technologically advanced hotels but does that in turn mean we are moving away from the magic of personal encounters?

There are lots of fancy new updates but our favourite is the updated camera which is so improved you can (almost) leave your digital camera at home, while the 6 Plus also has the option for longer exposure in low light, all the better for capturing those dusk and sunset pictures for Instagram. The ability to make calls over Wi-Fi is going to be a major money saver and means that wherever there is a McDonalds or Café Nero you can speak to your loved ones without the fear of enormous roaming fees. The battery life is reported to last longer than its predecessors which can only be a good thing, although it will be some time before us Brits can enjoy the Apple Pay function which has the potential to phase out credit and debit cards.
And finally… The future of travel has arrived, and it’s probably not quite what you were expecting! Uni students in Australia have created the ultimate in comfort travel – a robotic sofa, controlled by an X-box gamepad. The concept originated as a bit of a joke between the students, but having created the fully mobile sofa which they use to get around camp
