JAL narrows quarterly losses
Japan Airlines posted an improved first-quarter operating loss of US$756 million but declined to give a full-year earnings forecast, saying the situation remains too uncertain.
JAL expects its monthly cash burn rate to halve in Q2 compared to the first quarter and estimates ‘operating cash flow will turn positive in September.’
JAL said passenger traffic for domestic flights in the April to June quarter were more than double compared to the previous year, but are still only about one-third of pre-pandemic levels.
