Jet2.com follows easyJet with Belfast expansion
Jet2.com has chosen the same day as budget rival easyJet announced new routes to launch part of its summer 2008 flying programme from Belfast.
The airline, which offers 14 routes from its Northern Ireland base, has released seats on six of its most popular destinations to mainland Europe, the Balearics and Canary Islands, with prices starting at £19.99 one way.
Jet2.com is also increasing frequency on its Belfast International-Barcelona route this winter, with an extra flight on Tuesdays while flights to Malaga will operate year-round.
Flights for next summer to Barcelona, Palma, Prague, Tenerife, Ibiza and Malaga went on sale today, with seats other routes available soon.
The carrier’s commercial director Steve Lee said: “Even though this summer has not provided the hottest or driest weather in the UK, we’re hoping to bring a well-needed guarantee of sun for next year.
“Our additional flights to Barcelona and Malaga also testify to how popular these routes are and coupled with our summer 08 season, we want to underline our commitment to providing the best possible services as the lowest possible fares for the people of Northern Ireland.”
