JetBlue has strengthened its existing codeshare agreement with Icelandair.
The carrier has placed its code on flights operated by Icelandair to five JetBlue US destinations and Reykjavik-Keflavík International Airport.
The JetBlue ‘B6’ code will be added to flights from New York JFK, Boston Logan, Orlando Washington Dulles and Newark to Reykjavik.
"Visiting Iceland’s natural landscapes from JetBlue’s extensive East Coast network is as simple as visiting jetblue.com. Our combined presence in these key cities means that JetBlue along with Icelandair will be able to provide more seamless travel options than ever before," said Marty St. George, executive vice president commercial and planning at JetBlue.
It upgrades the two airlines’ partnership which was forged in 2011.
The pact will be further expanded in the future to include additional Icelandair routes between the US and Reykjavik and select connecting services in Scandinavia and Europe.
"This is an important milestone for Icelandair and will open up new opportunities for those traveling to Iceland and beyond," said Birkir Holm Gudnason, CEO of Icelandair.
