Los Angeles took in nearly $20 billion from tourism in 2014 during another record year for visitor arrivals.
A record 44.2 million people came to LA last year spending about $19.6 billion, about one-third of which came from the wallets of overseas travelers.
Tourism spending rose nearly 7%, fuelled by a record 6.5 million international visitors to the city.
"A shining star of our local economy, the tourism industry continues to thrive, supporting good-paying jobs for our families and generating significant revenue for our city’s vital public services," said Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board also announced record highs for hotel occupancy and hotel room nights.
On a statewide level, Visit California said 251 million took trips in California last year, generating travel-related spending of $117.5 billion.
