Larger aircraft have been banned from landing at Nepal’s international airport because of concerns over potholes on the runway.
Although small and medium-sized aircrafts can still land, planes weighing more than 196 tonnes are no longer allowed.
But officials said the ban would not affect aid efforts following last week’s earthquake.
More than 7,000 people are now reported to have died and more than 14,000 injured in the quake, which struck near Kathmandu.
On Friday, the EU envoy to Nepal, Rensje Teerink, said the whereabouts of 1,000 EU citizens was still unknown.
