Three judges in Seattle will hear arguments for the Trump Administration’s appeal of Hawaii’s challenge to its travel ban today.
Lawyers for the Administration will try to persuade the panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reinstate the ban on visitors from six predominantly Muslim countries: Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
Trump’s initial ban, which was introduced in January, was blocked by a Seattle judge, whose decision was upheld on appeal.
The ban was then revised, but blocked by a U.S. District Judge in Hawaii.
Trump’s lawyers will argue the previous decision by judges was "fundamentally wrong" and the ban is in the interests of national security.
