Launch of Explora Journeys’ first ship delayed

MSC’s Explora Journeys’ first ship has been delayed at the last moment.
Due to launch this week and an inaugural cruise later this month, the unveiling of Explora I is now pushed back ‘a few weeks.’
“We have agreed to make further enhancements to the final work of Explora I,” the company said.
“Unfortunately, the time required for the work will extend the vessel’s stay at the shipyard by a few weeks.”
The delivery ceremony scheduled for July 6 has been postponed to a later date.
The ship’s naming ceremony two days later is also off.
The ship was due to sail the inaugural voyage from Southampton on July 17.
The 15-night itinerary was to sail to the Norwegian Fjords and the Arctic Circle, ending in Copenhagen.
Later this year, Explora I is scheduled to sail 7- to 14-night Caribbean cruises.
Explora I is the first of six luxury ships for new cruise brand Explora Journeys.
Explora 2, is slated to launch in 2024.
