Man charged over Eurostar protest
A man has been charged over a protest near St Pancras station which forced the cancellation of Eurostar services on Saturday.
Services were suspended after a man carrying an England flag, and believed to be a pro-Brexit protester, spent the night on the station roof.
Power had to be switched off to overhead lines at the central London station.
Trains began operating again later on Saturday but there was a knock-on disruption to services.
Terry Maher, 44, of Cubitt Street in Camden, north London, has been charged with obstructing the railway and causing a public nuisance.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster magistrates today (Monday).
Meanwhile, Eurostar has cancelled more services this week due to the continued industrial action by customs officials at Paris Gare du Nord.
It says it expects the disruption, which began early in March, to continue until at least April 3.
