MAXjet eyes new US destinations
Business class-only transatlantic carrier MAXjet is considering new routes to the US as it expands its fleet.
The airline’s fleet is to increase in size to five Boeing 767s in early 2007 after an agreement in principle was reached for two additional aircraft.
This will enable it to launch new routes from Stansted – with Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco under consideration.
MAXjet announced load factors in June and July on its Stansted-New York route of more than 70% and an average of 60% on flights to Washington DC launched in April.
CEO Gary Rogliano said: “The two new aircraft will be used to open new scheduled service markets and increase our charter operations.
“For new scheduled service markets we are seriously looking at London to Boston and Las Vegas, as well as exploring several other major US destinations such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.”
The airline currently serves New York six times a week and Washington five times a week.
