Meeting planners concerned about rising airfares - TravelMole

Meeting planners concerned about rising airfares

Thursday, 14 Nov, 2006 0

So what are meeting planners worried about these days?

Rising airfares and how they will affect their destination choices, says the latest MiMegasite.com poll.

“The latest poll…found that 43% of respondents said airfares are currently a strong factor in their destination,” it said. “Further, 40%…said that if airfares keep rising, they will become a strong factor in destination choices for meetings.”

Fifteen percent of those polled said airfares are not currently near the level that would make air costs a deciding factor in the choice of meeting destinations.

But chances are oil prices will continue to rise, a possible blow to the meeting market in the future.
