Monarch unveils 2007 expansion plans
Monarch has announced expansion plans at Birmingham and Manchester for summer 2007.
In Birmingham it will add a fourth aircraft and launch a new service to Ibiza.
It will also increase flight schedules by 50%, doubling frequencies to Alicante, Palma and Murcia.
Whilst the rest of the summer 2007 schedule has not yet been released, Monarch has confirmed that it is also launching flights to Jerez from Manchester on March 25.
Monarch will operate four Jerez flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
These will be the only direct flights between the UK and Jerez from an airport outside of London.
Managing director of Monarch’s scheduled services, Tim Jeans said: “We’re now the number one international carrier from Manchester and well on the way to that status in Birmingham.
“The addition of a further Airbus A321 aircraft in Birmingham also allows us to increase the number of flights operated from the airport to 120 per week.”
Flights from Birmingham for summer 2007 plus flights between Manchester and Jerez have gone on sale today. Jerez flights are from £45 one way.
