Airlines have been forced to cancel hundreds of flights again today due to an ongoing strike by French air traffic controllers.
Ryanair alone confirmed that it has cancelled more than 50 flights on the fourth day of industrial action in France.
The cancellations include a handful from Stansted, East Mildands and Manchester to various destinations in France.
Both British Airways and easyJet said they might also be forced to cancel an unspecified number of flights, and BA warned other services might be delayed.
BA is giving passengers the option to postpone their flights, although it is also planning to use larger aircraft on remaining flights to accommodate more passengers.
Lobby group Airlines for Europe (A4E) claims that, in total, airlines have been forced to cancel up to 1,000 flights during the latest four-day strike by French ATC workers.
Ryanair said it was ‘disgraceful’ that the EU Commission and French government ‘stand idly by as ATC Unions once again hold Europe to ransom’.
It repeated its call for passengers to sign the A4E online petition Keep Europe’s Skies Open.
