Emirates launched its four additional services from Perth to Dubai last Friday, which will be escalated to a daily service in September.

Flight EK425 now departs Perth on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 06:30 to arrive in Dubai at 13:45.

The return flight EK424, departs Dubai at 09:25 on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to arrive in Perth at 00:10 the following morning.

The additional flights which will escalate to double daily in September will benefit West Australian travellers by enabling same day travel to the United Kingdom, as well as providing increased travel flexibility and cargo capacity, further strengthening Emirates’ position in the Australian market.

Richard Vaughan, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations East Asia and Australasia said: “The additional services signal our commitment and confidence in the growth of the Australian, and particularly the Western Australian market, and reflect a strong and steady demand for Emirates’ passenger and cargo services.

The additional services enable greater access and facilitate traffic flows between Western Australia and key markets in Europe and the Middle East. The flights are serviced by the Airbus A340-300 aircraft, which offers 267 seats in a three-class configuration – 12 seats in First Class, 42 in Business and 213 in Economy, plus 13 tonnes of cargo capacity.

The new services also provide valuable additional cargo capacity, supporting Emirates SkyCargo in its on-going efforts to develop existing business, as well as new export opportunities from Western Australia to destinations throughout the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the USA.

Emirates launched flights from Perth in August 2002 with four flights per week, commencing daily flights in March 2003. The Perth-Dubai flight was the first ever non-stop connection between the Middle East and Australia.

At present, Emirates provides 46 weekly passenger services between Dubai and Australia – fourteen per week to Sydney and Melbourne, eleven per week to Perth, and seven per week to Brisbane. Emirates has also extended its presence in Australia with the recent opening of two new dedicated First and Business Class Lounges in Sydney and Perth, in addition to the Brisbane Lounge which opened in 2004.
