More management changes at Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Andy Stuart as president and COO after Drew Madsen stepped down after only five months in the role.
Stuart, previously executive vice president sales for the cruise line, has been with Norwegian in various management roles since 1988.
Frank Del Rio, president and chief executive of parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, said: “Given the recent restructuring of the role and job responsibilities, Drew has decided to step down. We thank him for his contributions and wish him well.
“As we continue to build the newly merged organisation, we are tapping into the tremendous company and industry knowledge that Andy has, along with the strong relationships he has built with our travel partners.
“Andy and Norwegian are virtually synonymous. He is very well known and respected by our guests, travel partners, officers, crew, and team members. I am extremely confident that he is the perfect leader for the next phase of Norwegian’s growth.”
In January, Norwegian Cruise Line president and CEO Kevin Sheehan left the company and was replaced by Del Rio, the CEO of Prestige Cruises International, which was acquired by Norwegian last November.
Del Rio was a co-founder of Oceania Cruises, a subsidiary of Prestige.
