More management changes at The Travel Network Group

More changes to the management team have been confirmed at The Travel Network Group.

Julie Pinkney has been appointed to the newly-created role of retail director for The Travel Network Group.

Reporting directly to CEO Gary Lewis, she will oversee the group’s eight travel stores, its Cruise Club, and Dynamic, its in-house dynamic packaging platform.

Her appointment comes after a number of other key changes in the senior team.

Earlier this month it was confirmed that chief operating officer Lisa Henning is leaving the business in 12 months to ‘seek opportunities outside the group’.

Stephanie Slark, formerly head of recruitment, was then appointed to the position of membership services director.

Shortly after Pinkney’s appointment was confirmed it emerged that Anna Perrott, who joined as head of cruise just 20 days ago, has resigned. She was formerly head of cruise and touring for Travelbag.

Of her resignation, Lewis said: "In her short period with us, Anna has shown her passion for cruise and we wish her well for the future."

Pinkney has been a consultant for the past six years working with travel industry clients that include Hotelbeds Group, The Malvern Group, Sabre Travel and Teletext Holidays.

Before that she held senior management positions with Lastminute.com, Holiday Autos, Medhotels and Travel Bargains.

TTNG CEO Gary Lewis said: "We welcome Julie to our group as she has a range of specialist skills and experience that will add real value to our strategy going forward. Having worked in sales, retail and tour operations she will be a real asset to the team and through her early career as a travel agent, has a great understanding of the retail travel environment, understanding how our members operate and how we can better serve them in this key area.

"Julie will be tasked with helping us drive further sales for members and business partners in all her areas of responsibility, and using our owned stores to test new systems, products and processes that will bring further learnings to share with our members and their businesses."

Pinkney added: "I am delighted to be joining the group and feel excited to be working within a consortia organisation, an area of the industry that I haven’t worked in before. I see lots of opportunities to build on the strength of the Group and in helping the business deliver greater value to members."
