Multi-Generation Holidays to Kissimmee

Friday, 28 Jun, 2020 0

Kissimmee, The Vacation Home Capital of the World®, is the ideal choice for when visitors are ready to travel again on a multi-generation holiday. Located in Central Florida, minutes from world-famous theme parks, Kissimmee is also situated at the headwaters of the Everglades, offering an abundance of attractions, towns, and eco-experiences to explore.

With over 50,000 private-access holiday homes, eco-friendly attractions, thrilling excursions, world-class shopping, championship golf courses, and an eclectic dining scene, Kissimmee has everything for family members of all ages.

Whilst visitors cannot travel to the dream destination just yet, here’s some travel inspiration for families to start planning:

Wildlife

Central Florida’s oldest roadside attraction, Gatorland, offers guests the opportunity to see thousands of alligators and crocodiles, an aviary and bird rookery, an incredible breeding marsh, a petting zoo, up-close encounter shows, and more. Thrill seekers consider the Screamin’ Gator Zip Line — which flies over alligators and crocodiles at speeds near 30 miles per hour.

Airboat rides, a gator and wildlife park, a drive-thru safari, and so much more. Located off Cypress Lake, Wild Florida’s airboat tours allow visitors to get close to Florida wildlife in its natural habitat. Keep an eye out for alligators, fish, and birds — including bald eagles. The gator and wildlife park exhibit several different species of animals, such as alligators, tropical birds, emu, lemurs, and more. Guests can pick up an activity book and drive their own cars through the 85-acre Drive-Thru Safari Park to discover native and exotic animals roaming freely.

Thrilling excursions

Located in Central Florida’s countryside, Revolution Adventures offers guests a unique experience allowing them to drive an ATV through mud holes, dry sandy tracks, and grass, with plenty of twists and turns. Those wanting to take it slower, can board the park’s six-wheeled army truck, designed to give the best views of surrounding lakes, sand dunes, and wildlife.

Horse ride through Kissimmee’s ranch land

Most visitors do not know that Kissimmee was once a bustling ranching area until 1971 when Walt Disney World Resort opened, changing the family holiday experience forever.  At Lazy H Ranch visitors of all ages can ride a scenic trail through hundreds of acres of pristine Florida ranch lands and mosey across the Kissimmee Valley, through hundred-year old hammocks and along the stunning shores of lake Tohopekaliga. Hear tales of Florida’s cattlemen, Kissimmee’s cow town heritage and what it means to be a Florida cracker.

World-class shopping

From shopping centres to outlet malls. Designer shops to specialty stores. Brand-name bling to bargains. Spend a day strolling The Florida Mall or The Mall at Millenia, explore the charming boutiques of Celebration, and prepare for some power shopping at Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk

It’s always tee-time in Kissimmee

The fairest of fairways and the greenest of green, Kissimmee boasts some of the best golf courses in Florida. With year-round sunshine and 365 days to play, golfers can choose one of the 14 golf courses or join one of the renowned golf academies.

Guests staying in a holiday home at Reunion Resort can play the private championship course designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson. Falcon’s Fire Golf Club is recognised internationally as one of Kissimmee’s finest golf courses. The champion course was signature designed by Rees Joes and offers excellent services and facilities.

Culinary Kissimmee
