Myanmar based online travel platform Flymya has snapped up London travel tech developer Switch.CM.
Flymya, a leading online travel agency with a strong presence in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam as well as Myanmar, paid the equivalent of $600,000 for Switch, which develops booking platforms for airlines and hotels.
It builds API solutions and its reservations software is used by hotels in more than 40 countries.
"The acquisition of SWITCH.CM’s hotel software will allow Flymya to leverage its local expertise to deploy world class technology to small and medium-sized hotels as it continues its growth as the leading OTA in Myanmar and the region," said Mike Than Tun Win, CEO of Flymya.com.
Jeff Pan, CEO of Switch.CM said: "I was blown away by the operational infrastructure that Mike has built, pioneering the digital revolution in Myanmar by combining technology with a massive network of resellers and on-the-ground staff. I’m excited by the acquisition to see him leverage his expertise in Southeast Asia to grow our technology to its fullest potential."
