New communications chief for Delta

Delta Air Lines has appointed Kevin Shinkle as senior vice president and chief communications officer.

He joins from the Associated Press where he has worked for six years, most recently as business editor.

At Delta, Shinkle will be a member of the Corporate Leadership Team reporting to CEO Richard Anderson.

He replaces Ned Walker who announced in January 2014 his intention to retire in the June quarter.
