A new carrier is to start flights between the UK and Germany – and is claiming that it has the best leg room of all the no-frills airlines. According to the online news provider Ananova, the German carrier V Bird Airlines will start daily weekday services between Manchester and Niederrhein, near Dusseldorf, on 29 January, with a trial Sunday service between 1 February and 28 March. The carrier, which will operate the service using Airbus A-320s, carrying 162 passengers, will offer one-way fares from £27.
