Trinidad & Tobago’s new Prime Minister Keith Rowley has named Shamfa Cudjoe as minister of tourism.

Cudjoe’s background is in international affairs and foreign trade policy and she first entered parliament in 2010.

She has also worked as an international trade consultant with the Organization of the American States (OAS) and at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington D.C.

With a ‘a plethora of issues’ facing the tourism industry in Trinidad and Tobago, Cudjoe will focus on improving transportation links between Trinidad and Tobago and new initiatives to enhance the local tourism product.
