New UK ‘Green’ Tourism Website Launched
Special Places Tours has announced the launch of its new website where the responsible tourist can access activity short breaks designed to be sustainable as well as environmentally aware, www.specialplacestours.co.uk Special Places Tours, a partner in the Sustainable Tourism Partnership of the North York Moors, has chosen destinations to attract visitors without inflicting a huge cost to the environment. These destinations can also be reached by public transport and encourage the holiday market to leave their cars at home. Although tours are available all year round a special effort is made to promote short breaks in the shoulder seasons to help fill local bed space in their quieter times. Steve Green, co-director of Special Places Tours Ltd today said “We are a small specialist company and our aim is to reveal some of the idyllic places in the UK, to support local businesses, to promote local produce and to treat the visitor to delights they might never have found had they not booked one of our tours.” Special Places Tours website doesn’t just offer a combination of good value short breaks to suit all pockets; it also tries, where possible, to show the heritage, the wildlife and the landscape of the area so that a potential visitor can choose a destination according to what one might expect to find there in different seasons. Three of the most attractive UK destinations will be added to by Special Places Tours as they rapidly build their products with other hidden gems. Part of the strategy to broaden the product portfolio is the use of the OmniTourism (UK) software that will allow a wide range of tourism businesses within the sustainable field to be sold through the web site and via the call centre.
