Opodo blames ‘technical issue’ for overcharging

Online agent Opodo blamed a technical issues with the firm that processes its payments for overcharging 1,500 customers for their travel purchases.

Some customers were charged double while others were understood to have paid three times for the same bookings, the BBC reported.

Opodo said the fault had been rectified and the 1,501 customers affected would be refunded by February 26.

The company said in a statement: “Opodo regrets any inconvenience caused and would like to reassure customers that everything is being done to deal with the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
