Phuket ‘sandbox’ tourists can visit other islands after seven days
Tourists in the Phuket ‘sandbox’ visitor program will soon be able to leave the island after just seven days. Currently they must stay on Phuket two weeks before able to explore other Thai destinations.
The change takes effect from 1 August. After one week they can travel to specific destinations in Krabi, Surat Thani, and Phangnga such as Koh Samui, Koh Phamgan and Koh Tao.
Since Phuket’s reopening on 1 July, there have been nearly 10,000 arrivals under the quarantine-free sandbox scheme.
