Pier owners pledge rebuild
The owners of the pier at Weston-super-Mare which burnt down in just an hour and a half yesterday will rebuild the structure.
The 104-year-old structure had recently been refurbished at a cost of £1m but little remains of the historically rich landmark in Somerset.
Kerry Micheal, who bought the pier just this year, vowed that he and coowner, his sister Michelle, would “work tirelessly†to rebuild the pier which is a huge contributor to the town’s tourism coffers.
The pleasure pier is a grade II listed building and is one of just 55 left in the country.
