Pilgrimage travel on the rise
Globus has more than doubled its pilgrimage vacations for 2006 to include 20 tours in 20 countries.
That makes it one of the largest providers of religious tours in the escorted travel category, says the Littleton, Col.-based company.
“The religious travel sector is booming,” said Kevin J. Wright, Religious Travel Manager for the Globus family of brands. He added:
“Individual travelers as well as churches and other faith-based organizations now have so many options for religious travel.”
One typical package to Turkey includes many popular Christian stops, including Ephesus, where Apostles Paul and John were frequent visitors.
Another tour, the Shrines of French Canada, is a six-day journey to some of the world’s great shrines, including the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal.
