Princess Cruises is the latest cruise line to announce an impending increase in shipboard service charges.
The line is upping gratuities to $12.95 per person, per day for guests in most cabins while suite passengers will pay $13.50, effective for cruises departing from January 1, 2016.
It follows similar increases in the last few months by Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Holland America.
"This gratuity will be shared amongst those staff who help provide and support your cruise experience, including all waitstaff, stateroom stewards, buffet stewards and housekeeping staff across the fleet," a Princess Cruises statement said.
Gratuities are added to guests’ final shipboard bill but can be amended by guests based on overall guest service satisfaction.
