Bmi  has appointed Jet Airways chief executive Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as its new chief executive.
On November 1, Prock-Schauer will become deputy chief executive at the airline, before taking over the top job from Nigel Turner a month later. Turner will become deputy chairman of bmi on December 1.
Bmi chairman Stefan Lauer said: “We are installing a proven aviation expert with international experience. At Jet Airways, Prock-Schauer has shown how a company can be successfully positioned and operate in a challenging environment marked by strong competition.”
Prock-Schauer has been chief executive of Jet Airways since June 2003. During his tenure, the Indian carrier expanded from a purely domestic airline into an international carrier.
