Qantas has elevated its focus on cybersecurity with its first ever dedicated executive position.
The airline has hired Darren Argyle as the first chief information security officer.
He joins the flag carrier from London-based data analytics firm IHS Markit.
It had been on the hunt for a cybersecurity head since last year to ‘monitor the emergence of new threats and vulnerabilities, assess business impacts, and drive rapid responses to cyber security events.’
Argyle arrives in late February to take up the position.
