Qantas teams up with Uber
Qantas flyers can start earning frequent flyer points for trips to and from the airport from next month.
From November 3, Qantas members can earn between one and three Qantas points per dollar spent, depending on membership tier.
It is available for Uber rides to and from Adelaide, Avalon, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Cairns, Canberra, Gold Coast, Hobart, Maroochydore, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, Toowoomba and Townsville airports.
Following a new update of the Qantas app, an Uber icon now appears for easy booking of airport trips.
To kick off the partnership frequent flyer members who sign up and book a first Uber ride on the Qantas app will get 2,000 bonus Qantas Points on their first trip anywhere in Australia.
"We’re pleased to welcome Uber as one of our frequent flyer partners. We know it’s a service our customers already like using and now they have the ability to earn Qantas Points on their rides to and from the airport," said Qantas chief customer officer Olivia Wirth.
"Our focus is how we can make people’s entire journey more seamless, and incorporating the option to order an Uber through our app helps do that."
