Red alerts have been issued in France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland amid the current European heatwave.
It’s the first time France has issued a red alert, which is the highest danger level warning. The country recorded an all-time high on Friday when temperatures hit 45.1C in Villeveille, southern France.
In Spain, where firefighters are tackling wildfires, temperatures have been expected to hit 42C.
One person has died in Milan as a result of the heatwave, according to Italian media reports.
Meteorologists say the heatwave could carry on into next week.
