Rhapsody and the Reef set for close encounters
SYDNEY – Coinciding with the arrival of Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas into Sydney this weekend, a new brochure has been released highlighting the liner’s fourth season Down Under.
Rhapsody of the Seas’ 2010/11 programme has an enhanced Tropical Queensland itinerary as well as four new ports of call: Newcastle (NSW), Lautoka (Fiji), Champagne Bay (Vanuatu) and Agincourt or Norman Reef (Queensland).
In a first for a major cruise line, Rhapsody will anchor beside Agincourt Reef or Norman Reef to allow passengers to access the Great Barrier Reef directly from the ship for snorkelling and sight-seeing shore excursions, eliminating the need for boat transfer from the mainland to the reef.
The programme also offers a Christmas or New Year escape sailing the South Pacific islands.
Rhapsody of the Seas’ 2010/11 programme offers 17 cruises ranging from seven to 18 nights, making it the widest range of destinations and cruises for Royal Caribbean in the region to date.
Destinations include the South Pacific islands of New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tahiti and Hawaii – as well as Queensland, Tasmania, around Australia and New Zealand.
