Ryanair is seeking a licence to operate domestic flights in the UK, which it says it might need post-Brexit.
The airline said it had applied to the Civil Aviation Authority for a UK Air Operator’s Certificate.
"Ryanair today confirmed that a subsidiary company Ryanair UK filed an application on 21 December last for an Air Operator’s Certificate with the Civil Aviation Authority in the UK," it said in a statement.
"This may be required for Ryanair’s three UK domestic routes in the event of a hard Brexit in March 2019."
Ryanair operates only a handful of domestic flights in the UK, including from Stansted and Gatwick to Belfast and from Stansted to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
