Ryanair ceasing all Northern Ireland flights

Ryanair is pulling out of Northern Ireland. It is ending services at Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport in September and October respectively. It is ending its eight routes from Belfast City to eight destinations – Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Ibiza, Mallorca, Mlaga, Milan and Valencia by 12 September.

The airline will end its current six routes at Belfast International by the end of October. The airline blames the pull-out on the government’s refusal to reduce air passenger duty and no Covid recovery incentives for both airports.

Aircraft will be reallocated to ‘lower-cost airports elsewhere in the UK’ the airline said.
