Sabre has announced an agreement to buy airfare solutions company Farelogix for a reported $360 million.
The deal will help speed up Sabre’s ‘end-to-end NDC-enabled retailing, distribution and fulfilment solutions’ it said.
Miami based Farelogix provides airline solutions via multiple channels including agency GDS, airline websites and mobile apps.
"Today’s announcement is a natural evolution of the successful, ongoing collaboration between our two companies," said Jim Davidson, CEO of Farelogix.
Sabre is working on the roll out of its new Beyond NDC program and has secured NDC partnerships with American Airlines, AMEX Global Business Travel, Carlson Wagonlit, and Flight Centre Travel Group.
"By integrating Farelogix’s capabilities into Sabre’s airline technology platform, we’ll be able to offer the comprehensive solutions that airlines require," said Sabre CEO Sean Menke.
The transaction is expected to complete by early 2019 subject to regulatory approval.
