Scottish agents are calling for an urgent meeting with Lufthansa over the airline’s decision to impose a €16 charge for GDS bookings.
The Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association said it strongly objects to the ‘disturbing’ announcement that Lufthansa will charge around £11.60 for GDS bookings from September 1.
SPAA vice president and air/GDS convener Alan Glen said the charge has been announced with no forewarning or consultation with agents.
"This is the thin end of a very regressive wedge that could see other airlines and alliances take up such unjustified charging," he said.
The SPAA said it will be consulting with other travel sector organisations and seeking an early meeting with Lufthansa Group management, to protest the move and its withdrawal.
